About This Item

Gurney & Jackson, London & Edinburgh, 1939. 1st edition. Hard covers, no dust jacket. Good/No Jacket. Spine frayed, corners bumped. Many pencil annotations (anonymous, but possibly written by Philip Oswald from whom this copy came), with additional records and ticks of species seen. Attractively coloured geological map facing p. 190. Written by the author of "A natural history of Wicken Fen", this is composed in narrative style and lacks descriptions, keys or indeed any descriptive botanical information, though it does go into considerable detail on localities, habitats and abundance.
