Hutchins on endpaper, interior clean and fine in vg cover. . 8vo [22 x 16 cm]; xviii, [19] - 200 pp, 4 colored plates (chromolithographs) including frontis, 2 fine etched plates, tissue guards, other plates from drwgs, numerous other illus, title page vignette. . Clark, New South 302. Bennett p. 32, citing a 1899 edition: '4 lovely full page plates of Florida scenes in bright colors'. The author describes the first town in Florida at St. Augustine and the country along the St. Johns River, the woods, swamps, and the people. The fine illustrations by Louis K. Harlow evoke the place as it was before the massive development and commercialization. A picture of this book is available on request by email.
