This book has a second edition, "The FOA Reference Guide to Fiber Optic Network Design And Project Management" that adds information on fiber optic projects and their management. Fiber optics has become the backbone of all communications systems, including telecom - landline and wireless - the Internet, CATV, LANs, etc. Most books cover the installation of fiber optic networks, yet every network requires extensive planning and design to ensure a successful installation.
