Hardcover VG. First Trade Edition. BAL 3451. Hardcover. First Edition. Decorated blue cloth. Illustrated with a frontispiece, plates, and text engravings. This copy has single Hartford imprint and the signature "11" at page 161. Former owner's bookplate on inside board. The inner joints are open but firm. Some edge wear to spine, boards, and tips. Some light spotting to front and rear boards. Some rubbing/color loss to elephant imprint on cover.
Synopsis
Following the Equator (American English title) or More Tramps Abroad (English title) is a non-fiction travelogue published by American author Mark Twain in 1897. Twain was practically bankrupt in 1894 due to a failed investment into a "revolutionary" typesetting machine.
