London: Smith, Elder and Co., 1861. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 5 x 7 3/4 in. 226 pgs, plus adverts. First edition, first issue. Green embossed cloth boards with gilt lettering and decoration on spine. Tissue-protected engraved frontis. Condition is VERY GOOD ; corners and ends of spine have wear, with light edge wear. Covers are somewhat rubbed at the raised decoration, but very clean. Spine mildly toned. Binding is tight and text clean, with contemporary heraldic bookplate on front pastedown, from the library of Charles Hebbert. Fiction. RGR.
