About This Item
This is the first impression (1978) of the Folio Society's Framley Parsonage, the fourth novel in the Chronicles of Barsetshire series by the great English writer Anthony Trollope (1815-1882). It is about the politics and romances surrounding the leading clergy of the cathedral city of Barchester. It is illustrated with woodcuts by the British artist Peter Reddick.
As with all Folio Society books, it is printed on lovely paper. Yellow and white boards, with a gold design on the spine, in a pale gray slipcase.
There's a little wear to the slipcase. The book is in mint condition.
NOTE: From the same Trollope series by the Folio Society, I also have Barchester Towers, The Warden and The Small House at Allington. If you want to buy them as a set, please contact me.
Synopsis
When young Mark Robarts was leaving college, his father might well declare that all men began to say all good things to him, and to extol his fortune in that he had a son blessed with an excellent disposition. This father was a physician living at Exeter. He was a gentleman possessed of no private means, but enjoying a lucrative practice, which had enabled him to maintain and educate a family with all the advantages which money can give in this country.
