About This Item

Flagstaff, Arizona: Northland Press, 1976. SIGNED by Fred Rosenstock and Donald E. Bower, directly on the limitation page (their signatures only, NOT personalized to anyone). Still sealed in the publisher's clear plastic shrinkwrap. BRAND NEW in a BRAND NEW slipcase. Perfect condition. NO rubbing. NO fading. Sharp corners. 1976. Limited to 250 signed, slipcased, numbered copies, this being #247 (based on inserted slip visible through clear shrinkwrap). Illustrations, a few in full color. Foreword by Frank Waters. Fred Rosenstock, the Dean of Denver antiquarian booksellers, was a leading collector and authority on Western Americana. His skills as a story teller are legendary and this biography is based in part on one hundred hours of taped interviews with him. This beautifully produced volume is loaded with his fascinating adventures with books and book people. From Frank Water's foreword: "What makes [this book] unusually appealing is one man's lifelong love of books, his uncanny nose for books, and his sleuth-like tracking of those rare, forgotten, or lost volumes that are now known and treasured Americana." Taped to the shrinkwrap is a review of the book from the AB Bookman's Weekly. Bound in the original maroon cloth-backed marbled boards. Complete with maroon cloth slipcase, stamped in bright gold... SIGNED by both author and subject. First Edition, Limited 250 copies. Hardcover. New/New slipcase in shrinkwrap. 8vo. 229pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
