Black coloured boards with gilt writing on spine. The corners are slightly rubbed and the head and the heel of the spine are slightly soft. Photographic dustwrapper, with black background, with black writing on the front panel and white on the spine. Minor rubbing and fading to the dustwrapper has occurred. In this book the author gives his autobiography and his war service and then concentrates on his tenure at large institutional libraries and the politics and pressures that go hand-in-hand with the running of such institutions.
