Toronto: The Ryerson Press, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 5.9 x 8.5". First Printing 1 Hardcover in Very Good condition with Fair/Good dust jacket. Red cloth boards with gild lettering and design on front and spine. A couple of corners lightly bumped, else minimal edge or surface wear. Joints and binding very good. Pages clean and lightly tanned. One ffep has been clipped, probably removing a previous owner's name. Othherwise interior is as new. Heavily illustrated with photos of the artist's works- 5 Color plates including the frontispiece are a highlight. This biography is a nice read that will make you want to see more of this artist's work. Apparent first printing, dated July 1946. George Agnew Reid (1860-1947) was a Canadian artist, architect, educator and administrator influential in the early 20th century and instrumental in the formation of a number of important Canadian art institutions.
