About This Item
Abbeville Press, 1982. First Edition. Hardcover. Like New/Very Good+. 11x8x0. Signed by Author. Signed "John Baeder" on front endpaper. Signed copies rarely offered. Baeder, an artist and author of Diners, here chronicles America's prewar highway culture with reproductions of postcards, many of which are photocards and linen cards. He also tells stories about the often-garish pictures and includes photos of some of the motels, cottages and road stops as they appear today. John Baeder (born December 24, 1938) is an American painter closely associated with the photorealist movement. He is best known for his detailed paintings of American roadside diners and eateries.
