HARDCOVER. 8vo in flexible Croft Leather covered boards (a leather effect textured brown cloth), gilt lettering to spine and front cover, top edge of page block dark red printed, Horace Brodzky artwork end-papers, 193pp plus 6pp publishers ads at rear. This edition is one of the few Modern Library titles which has no bibliographic or copyright date. The introductory text to the adverts at the rear refers to it being two years since the first books in the series, implying 1919, the same year the Brodzky end-papers were introduced. The printed text is very sharp implying a first or early edition (printing plates wear down and become slightly but noticeably fuzzy with subsequent printings) __CONDITION : A well preserved clean and tight VERY GOOD+ copy (few spots of slight shelf rub to cover edges, pages moderately tanned, tiny chip to top corner tip of rear blank leaf. On the Genealogy of Morality, or On the Genealogy of Morals, subtitled "A Polemic" (Eine Streitschrift), is a work by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, composed and first published in 1887 with the intention of expanding and following through on certain new doctrines sketched out in his previous work Beyond Good and Evil.
