In the original Italian. With an engraved portrait frontispiece of Tasso. In a pocket sized format. Torquato Tasso was an Italian 16th century poet. Gerusalemme Liberata is his most famous poem. The work depicts conflict between Christians and Muslims during the end of the First Crusade. In a full vellum binding with gilt stamping to the board edges and spine. Externally, generally smart with bumping and rubbing to the joints and to the head and tail of spine. A few marks to the boards and spine. Loss to the spine label. Bookseller's label to front pastedown. Prior owner's inscription to recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned at edges with scattered spots throughout. Very Good
