A first edition of Robert Anderson's novel, a story of an affair between a man and a woman, each of whom love their spouses. With a special introductory note by the author and illustrations by Barnett Plotkin. Issued as part of the publisher's First Edition Society series which preceded the Simon & Schuster trade edition. One of an unspecified limited number in the series. --- Bound in full brown bonded leather covers with three raised bands on spine. Text presented on quality papers. Spine titling, elaborate decorations to covers and spine, and textblock edges all in bright gilt. Orange silk moire endpapers, with matching sewn-in satin ribbon placemarker. Volume lacks a dust jacket (as issued). --- An about-Near Fine copy with four small white marks to front cover fore-edge and creases to the corner of a leaf near front of book; otherwise bright, newish and probably unread.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; (14), 257 pages .
