About This Item
Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Grosset & Dunlap. Originally published in 1936 by William Penn & Company, this is a reprint edition. Loring titles from 1922 to 1937 were first published by William Penn, and later reprinted by Grosset starting in 1961. So even though the only date listed is 1936, this is most likely one of the later reprint editions since it is a Grosset & Dunlap copy. A first printing of this edition. The story of Lex Carson, staying briefly in Maine to claim an inheritance, who meets the beautiful Melissa Barclay, will long term romance ensue? This is not a library discard, not a remainder. Former owner's name written in blue pen ink on the first flyleaf and dated 1964. Jacket has a 1/4" deep chip on the heel of the spine, small chip to the bottom right tip of the corner, diagonal crease to the bottom right. It has been protected with a clear cover though. The binding is tight and square. Edges of the text block are clean. No further writing besides the name on the flyleaf. Red colored boards with the author name and title imprinted on the spine and front board in black. Boards are flat, no edge wear, very slight inward bump to the tips of the corners. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory. We have several Loring titles listed.
