About This Item
London: Gollancz, 1954. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. 7.5" by 5". None. Ellery Queen is a pseudonym used by two American cousins from Brooklyn to write detective fiction. Daniel Nathan, alias Frederic Dannay (1905-1982) and Manford (Emanuel) Lepofsky, alias Manfred Bennington Lee (1905-1971). In a successful series of novels that covered 42 years, Ellery Queen served as both author's name and that of the detective-hero. Movies, radio shows, and television shows have been based on their works. The two, particularly Dannay, were also responsible for co-founding and directing Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, generally considered as one of the most influential English crime fiction magazines of the last sixty-five years. The Glass Village is a mystery novel set in the imaginary New England town of Shinn Corners, United States. In the original publisher's cloth binding and the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Minor shelfwear to the boards. Minor edgewear to the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean. Very Good
