Novel of Russian village Jews emigrating to Chicago. Uncommon "problem novel," dealing with Jewish-Gentile intermarriage, and attendant anti-Semitism, in a midwestern city. Tobenkin was the author of two Rideout novels, Witte Arrives (1916) and The Road (1922). Intermarriage
This book is from a 100 year old Jewish Temple library. Many books are from the 19th Century. Books were not written in at that time, instead an index card with info. Am enclosing that card for you. Enjoy.
