London: Sampson Low, Marston and Company, 1900. Book. Very Good. Decorative Cloth. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Fully decorative gilt over white cloth with white cloth beveled edges and gilt lettering to the spine. All edges gilt. Green EPs. This copy is VG. Exterior is bright and clean with only a hint of wear. Gilt is bright. Interior has presentation BP from James B. Herndon ( Former Chairman of the American Hotel Association) to Cornell University. FEP has signs of removed pocket. FFEP has neat PO signature dated 1904. Page edges have faded "Hotel Administration Library" stamped. 214 Illustrations plus two maps. Frontispiece photograph of the author with tissue guard present, but loose. Text is only minimally toned. Herndon was also a former VP of Hilton Hotels as well as Treasurer of the Waldorf- Astoria. The entirety of his extensive book collection on cookery and culinary subjects was bequeathed to Cornell in 1953. .
