About This Item

32 and 32 pages with color and black and white illustrations. Octavo (8" x 6 1/4") issued in yellow cloth with pictorial laid on covers. Illustrations by Blanche Fisher Wright. Early printing. The Goody-Naughty Book was published as two books back to back. Opening the book from one end, the reader experiences "The Goody Side" where the children are polite and thoughtful. However, turning the book over and beginning from the other side, one reads "The Naughty Side" where the children are lazy and irritable. These short, moral stories teach children the proper way to behave and that there are consequences if they don't. Condition: Gift inscription to front end paper on the "Naughty Side", light wear and soiling to covers. Jacket soiled with wear to edges including tears and chips, spine ends chipped. A very good copy in a better than good jacket.
