Richmond: William F. Ritchie, 1851. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. Quarto. 20 report documents. Various pagination. Brownish marbled paper covered boards with brown leather spine. Boards and front flyleaf detached. Spine is worn and rubbed and has no title labels. Documents 9 and 10 have some period worm damage lower page corners. Folding illustration between documents 11 and 12 is torn with a large section missing. Contents include reports on eastern and western asylums, visitors at the Virginia Military Institute, visitors of deaf, dumb and blind institutions, University of Virginia visitors, etc. Poor to fair condition.
