About This Item

London: Bellew Publishing, Co. Ltd., 1990. First Printing, First Edition Thus. . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. A truly great collection of mystery-crime short stories edited and introduced by Mortimer, whose Rumpole novels have become classics. The writers include Dickens and Poe, Conan Doyle and Damon Runyon, Chandler and Highsmith, Rendell and P.D. James, all first class writers whatever the genre. Text edges lightly soiled, with a tiny ink dot on bottom edge that may or may not be a remainder mark; a very slight spine lean, o/w boards and text are clean and tight; the dustjacket shows a small, quarter-inch tear in the upper edge of the back panel, some other minor edgewear.
