Hoehling's recap of the ships, sailors and various battles of World War I, mostly from a Royal Navy perspective. Per the author's introduction, 3000 warships, weighing in at 10,000,000 tons were brought to the fight by Great Britain, Germany, the U.S., France, Japan, Italy, Russia and Austria-Hungary. Includes dozens of black & white photos, drawings, newspaper reproductions and a handful of maps. This work compiled from two earlier publications: "The Splinter Fleet" by Ray Milholland and "With the British Battle Fleet" by Commodore G. von Schoultz. --- In burgundy paper-covered boards backed in burgundy cloth with gilt-stamped spine titling. Volume wrapped in dust jacket with black & white drawing of the the Battle of Jutland. --- A clean, tightly-bound, bright copy lacking significant damages. Unpriced dust jacket also in excellent shape, but with slight rubbing and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; (14), 336 pages .
