About This Item

USA: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1986. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This is the story of a forgotten hero. Paul Rosbaud was a distinguished science editor for the German firm of Springer Verlag, a close friend of the famous physicists who changed our world with the discovery of nuclear fission, and , apparently, a pillar of Nazi society. The other side of the coin is that Rosbaud was also Winston Churchill's most invaluable spy in Germany throughout World War II. There is a dedication to " Colonel Maurice Buckmaster- Head of F section, distinguished by Gallantry. With my ???? Arnold Kramish " on the title page. The lower corners of the red boards has been bumped, the text block is crisp and clean. The dust jacket has light creasing , top and base and a small hole on the back panel..
