First Theatre Guild version, with three photographic illustrations from the Theatre Guild production. Translated from the Hungarian play "A Testor" by Grace L. Colbron and Hans Bartsch, acting version by Philip Moeller, foreword by Theresa Helburn. Near Fine, top edge darkened, prior owner gift inscription dated Jan. 1925 front end page. In a Very Good Minus dust jacket, spine darkened, front panel separated at spine fold, edges chipped. Basis for the 1924 play as well as the 1931 film both starring Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontaine, and filmed several other times both in Europe and America, . Molnar is best known for his play "Liliom", most notably filmed as "Carousel". . SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. First Edition Thus. Hard Cover.
