H. Huxley, with illustrations. A smart first edition copy of this work. This volume contains Thomas Henry Huxley's diary of his voyage on the H.M.S. Rattlesnake which has been edited and published after his death by his grandson Julian Huxley. Thomas Henry Huxley was an English biologist and anthropologist specialised in comparative anatomy and was a strong advocate of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. With twelve black and white plates and a colour frontispiece and a folding map of the East Coast of Australia to the rear. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light fading to the spine and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good Indeed
