Chicago: Reilly & Lee. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1928. First Edition. Leather. A first edition of Edgar Guest's ninth book of verse, published in 1928. Includes an introductory explanation of the book's title by Rev. M. S. Rice. "Eddie" Guest, sometimes referred to as the "People's Poet," was a popular poet in the early part of the 20th century. Mr. Guest was born in England, but his family moved to Detroit, Michigan when he was 10. --- In flexible red leather boards with titling and decoration in bright gilt to cover; spine titling also in gilt, brown marbled endpapers and TEG (top edge gilt). Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- About one inch of leather covering at head of spine is missing, and with small bruises, chafed spots and blemishes to covers, as well as inked gift incription & ownership info. to front paste-down, otherwise a well-preserved copy.; 16mo - 6 to 7 in. tall; 185, (4) pages .
