Reviews
Before you read this book I suggest you read The Drift Fence first. You don't have to, as they are independent enough stories to stand alone, but for the full effect and enjoyment they need to be read in order. In this story, Jim Traft's sister, Glorianna, arrives to visit her still tenderfoot brother, but there is trouble on the range as the Hash Knife Outfit is rustling cattle and terrorizing the Basin. As Glorianna is seeking adventure and excitement, she fully expects and wants to meet a "real desperado". When she does, she regrets her wish and becomes captive of the outfit. Her resolve and her growth as she faces this ordeal makes the book. There are enough fist fights and blazing guns to make this a "real" western--a Zane Grey western. And they are the best!
