Hardcover first American edition, published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1949. No dust jacket. Classic novel set during WWII about relationships affected by the London blitz and its aftermath. 372 pages. Green cloth covered boards with the title and author name imprinted in gold on the spine, lettering is partially worn though still entirely readable. Dots of rubbing wear to the lower inch or so of the green cloth covered boards . Corners are straight and not bumped. Sewn binding is tight and square. Former owners name and address written in black fine point ink on the first flyleaf page, though no further writing besides that. Not a library discard. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
