Text is clean and unmarked in a square and tight binding. lettering on the spine is faded. Previous owner's name is on the top outside corner of the illustrated front free end paper. Price unclipped DJ is worn around the edges with several small chips out of the top and bottom spine. From the front DJ flap, "The first President to come from west of the Mississippi was born into a poor Quaker family and early orphaned. After working his way through Stanford University, Herbert Hoover got his first job - as a common miner, at $2.50 for a ten-hour day."
