Dj is in mylar sleeve. Brick red- brown cloth, 548pp, index. 1450 plates of which 249 are in colour. A comprehensive book portraying the four major roots of Upper Canadian furniture. This is first printing was published by Van Nostrand Reinhold in 1978. Pain was an antique dealer and an important authority of Canadian furniture. Dean A Fales Jr wrote the foreword and there is an introductory essay by William Kilbourn. A heavy book. (6.5 JM LVR 205/a0. 1st. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good (-). 4to - over 9¾" - 12".
