About This Item
London: T Nelson and Sons, 1878. Special Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Original publisher's reddish-brown boards with gilt titling and gilt insignia of "King Edward's Lower Middle Schools Birmingham - Founded by King Edward VI". This would seem to suggest that this is the scarce 'juvenile' edition published in 1878. Gilt titling to spine which is scuffed at the bottom with a very small tear at the top betw spine and lower board. Corners a little rubbed as is the lower board. Both the front and the back dark pastedowns appear to have had pasted in labels removed which has resulted in an unsightly residue. There is a faint prev owner's name to the ffep o/w the pages are unmarked and undiscoloured. Slight forward lean to textblock. 286pp.
