About This Item
New York: The Mysterious Bookshop, 2022 During the Christmas holidays in 1993, Otto Penzler's The Mysterious Bookshop on Warren Street in NYC commissioned a short story from mystery writer Donald E. Westlake. The only conditions were that the story was set at Christmas time and that at least part of the story took place in the bookstore. In 2022, Tom Mead, author of "Death and the Conjuror" and "The Murder Wheel," added "Hester's Gift" to the collection. First edition, first printing. 28 pages plus a short description of the origin of the collection and a list of previous contributors. 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches in stiff white paper boards decorated with a simple graphic of a wrapped gift box on the front panel. This copy is "as new" condition with no noticeable damage or flaws.
