Washington DC: Anderson House, 1937. First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. (5) 142 pp. SIGNED/INSCRIBED by Burgess Meredith in ink on the half-title: "To Bruce from Burgess Meredith". Illustrated dust jacket. Prior owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Illustrated endpapers. Gray cloth. 5 1/4" x 7 3/4". Per a page fronting the copyright page, Guthrie McClintock presented this play for the first time in the Hanna Theater in Cleveland, Ohio, with sets by Jo Mielsiner and starring Burgess Meredith, Peggy Ashcroft and Hume Cronyn. Mr. Meredith had previously starred in Maxwell Anderson's play, Winterset. A Near Fine copy (Slightly sunned), in a Very Good dust jacket (edgewear and chips at top of spine and back cover), now in a clear mylar protective sleeve.
