Louis XIII, also known as Louis the Just, was a 17th-century King of France. While not considered as prolific as his son Louis XIV, Louis XIII, alongside his advisor Cardinal Richelieu, was best-known for his disbanding of private duels as well as the razing of numerous Huguenot strongholds.
An anonymous history of Louis XIII was published at the end of the 17th-century, a work which describes the political climate of France during Louis XIII's reign, as well as military exploits, along with commentary on major life events of the French royal family.
