The spiral-bound booklet is printed one-sided on 60# paper with the fine print enlarged for easier reading. A sheet of clear vinyl has been added to protect the front cover. Among the many and diverse topics covered are: Col. John Hardin, Fort McArthur, Hull's Trail, a pioneer court, Kenton in 1846, early train service, Simon Kenton, the great marshes, Hog Creek Marsh, the ditch laws, Hardin's Great Trees, How Dr. John Knight outwitted his Indian captors, tornado of 1887, Gen. James Robinson, Pioneer Day in 1889, early settlers -- Alfred Hale, Peter McArthur, David Campbell and Samuel Tidd -- and tales of an old stage driver. GENEALOGY BUFFS will find a list of 1888 county officers and businesses. A 1933 look at the history of newspapers in the county, brief 1941 article on Ohio Northern University and another on Simon Kenton for whom Kenton was named, a map showing the 88 Ohio counties and a map of 1805 Ohio are also included. .
