The spiral-bound booklet is one-sided on 60# paper with the fine print enlarged for easier reading. A sheet of clear vinyl has been added to protect the front cover. Among the many and diverse topics covered in the booklet are: the Formation and Original Extent of the County; Indian Trails; Early Settlers; How Smoking Led to an Explosion; the University of Wooster; When an Indian Wanted Grease; Mock Indian Scares; Chief Johnny-Cake "Skedaddles", the Remains of Buffaloes and Cedar Trees; the Adventures of Adam Poe, Indian Fighter; Harry Franks, Indian Captive; a Wild Bunch of Outlaws and the Market House Mob. GENEALOGY BUFFS will find a list of 1888 county officers and businesses,and biographical material on John S. Rarey, a horse tamer; the colorful life of Herr Driesbach, the lion tamer and his wife; William B. Allison, senator; Gen. Thomas Thornton Eckert, superintendent of telegraphy for the Army of the Potomic in the Civil War; France Fuller and Metta Fuller, poets and writers; Edward Thomson, bishop of the M.E. Church; Reasin Beall, Congressman; and John Sloane, United States treasurer.
