Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 1952. 8vo size blue clothbound hardcover with photo illustrated dust jacket; 312 toned pages. Provocative black and white photo frontispiece on glossy stock, a few other black and white photos (also on glossy stock) and illustrations and a multi-fold, bound in map. From jacket: "The prehistoric peoples who lived in England and Wales before the Romans came, and the Romans themselves, left their history behind them written in earth and stone... Region by region (the author) takes the reader on a guided tour of caves, villages, dykes, forts, tracks and roads, canals,, sanctuaries, stone circles and rows, menhirs, tombs, barrows, and rock-carvings." Jacket has edgewear, a large chip to bottom of jacket spine and minor chipping to the top of spine and corners. There is an inch long tear on bottom of back of jacket.
