"Read the 1854 constitution of the Practical Christian Republic in [History of the Hopedale Community], pp. 397-410, for a variety of utopian theory which exhibits at once the religious socialists' tendency toward nonresistance in extreme form, the utopians' dissociation from national life, and the secular socialists' inclusion of world government in their system of thought." *Egbert p. 275.
