Frontis illus. shows the 2 boys looking at vignettes of historical heroes. Title page has a Vignette illus. of the boys with a dog. 4 more pages of illustrations, having 2 to a page, making 8 pictures. Perion Green cloth cover with Gilt title and decoration to spine. Blind-stamped foliate decoration on front and back. Spine tanned and some fading around borders on front & back. Gift inscription on ffep dated 1851 and a penciled name on endpaper. No other inscriptions. Hinges sound and text block firm. Spots of light foxing to frontis and very light foxing to title page.
