About This Item
Chicago: The Blakely Printing Company, 1889. Complete in four volumes, each published in 1889, 1890, 1891, and 1895. Full blind and gilt stamped leather covers. Marbled end leaves and marbled edges. Other than just a little scattered foxing on the end leaves, the contents of all four volumes remain tight, bright, and very clean. The top joint/hinge of Volume I is cracked near heel. The top cover of Volume II is detached and the bottom cover is held firm over the hinge (internal). The joints (external) on Volume III are both broke, though the covers are still holding by the hinges. The top cover of Volume IV is barely holding. Volume IV also shows a little foxing on the end leaves. There is a private library book plate, as well as small library sticker, seen on the front paste downs of all four volumes. The text block are all very sold and remain well attached to covers. Contents are clean, bright, and intact. Good working or binding set.
