Manuscript inscription, signed by Katherine Wallace Kitts, "Presented to me by Eleanor Beekman Gordon (Mrs. Gurdon W. Gordon) in Springfield, Massachusetts in her home at 90 Dartmouth Street, November 1926. Mrs. Gordon, an unusually charming woman, to a Pawling- De Witt descendant".
4to, frontispiece, engraved half title, vi, 322 pp, [2] pp, Appendix viii, Index xi, all edges gilt. Illustrations and maps printed in text. Dark brown blind and gilt stamped leather, slightly rubbed, top hinge cracked but holding, text and illustrations bright and clean. OCLC: 57259362.
