About This Item

Ecco / HarperCollins, New York, 2005. First Edition. Hardcover (1/4 Cloth 3/4 Boards). Very Good Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: Photographic. Inscribed by Author. introduction by Anthony Lewis, Note to the Reader, afterword by Alan Dershowitz, acknowledgements, notes and index the text is illustrated with eight pages of black-and-white photographs / illustrations between pages 138 and 139. 1/4 black coloured cloth covered backstrip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 pale purple coloured boards with self embossed publisher's titles to the lower edge of the front panel. Plain text dustwrapper with black and white coloured background, and gilt and white coloured background to the backstrip. White, black and gilt coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. When Deborah Lipstardt, an American academic, wrote her book "Denying the Holocaust: The Growing Assault on Truth and Memory" and named the British author David Irving as one of the "... most dangerous spokespersons of the denial movement" -- from the front fold over panel blurb, she did not know that she would find herself, along with her publisher, in front of a British judge sued for libel by David Irving. This is her recounting of that trial -- its build up, it's personalities and of the trial itself and more importantly the fallout after the judgement had been passed. Rubbing of the book corners and softening of the back strip edges. Some marks to the front panel. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. A stain to the lower right-hand corner of the free front end page. Creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with rubbing of the panels. Some marks to the dustwrapper panels.
