About This Item
Grosset & Dunlap, 1954. Hardcover. Very Good+/Good. Hardcover with original DJ, [Format 5 per Mattson] (Dust Jacket A, Format V per AXE) 1954 (possibly 1955) Grosset & Dunlap 212 pages. Very Good+, in a Good DJ. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to original tan tweed cloth boards with dark brown silhouette of the Hardy Boys on front cover and dark brown titles on spine - two tiny bumped corners. Orange and white endpapers by Gretta. Black topstain. Frontispiece and 5 internal illustrations on plain paper. Rear inside cover has the bookstore stamp of the famous and sadly long gone Hudsons Book Store which was a part of the Hudsons Department Store of Detroit, Michigan. Moderate shelf/edge wear, a few closed tears and dust soiling to original DJ that still has vibrant colors. Only flaw is old tape shadow showing though the DJ on the rear panel. DJ now in mylar. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Good paper. 25 chapters. This is the 34th title in a series of 58. Dust Jacket A, Format V per AXE. Inside front DJ flap lists to this title and has 9595 at top and 100-140 at bottom. Rear DJ flaps list to The Lost Explorers of The Bomba Books. Rear panel of DJ has ad for a special introductory offer to become a member of the Junior Adventurers Club. See my photos to come. Per AAC Boys Series Books by Axe, pg 98,99 and Mattson 30300. A very respectable vintage copy that still presents well in the original DJ. LOC SSS-11
