Publisher's red cloth with gilt-stamped spine title; blind-stamped center medallion and border on each board. Dark brown endpapers. Bookdealer's label on front fixed endpaper for T.W. Arthur, Carlisle. Bookdealer's label on back fixed endpaper for J.A. Allen & Co., London, "Specialists in Books on the Horse." Half-title: The Horse-Trainer's Guide. Spine title: The Horse-Trainer's Guide. Printed by Spottiswoode and Co., London. Publisher's advertisements for works on the horse on final two unpaginated pages; final 32 paginated pages consist of publisher's general list, dated July 1865. A scarce mid-19th-century work on horses and hunting. In Very Good- Condition: slightly cocked; cloth is somewhat soiled; corners rubbed; ends of spine frayed with slight loss of cloth at head of spine; pages are clean and tight.
