All plates present. In the original publisher's full cloth binding with maps to the endpapers. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Inscribed by the author to the recto of the publication history leaf, dated 1957. The dust wrapper is sound with some chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, some creasing to the front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean, only the odd minor spot to the first few leaves. Illustrated with a frontispiece and fifteen full page plates.
