The front cover has a couple of small bumps and dents or contact marks. INSCRIBED by the author on the Table of Contents page, "For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy feet from being Taken. Proverbs 3:26. / Betty Lee." Illustrated with several full-page nicely rendered drawings. This is the life of Mary Franks Austin, a young African-American woman from Laurens, South Carolina who died at an early age. It also has discussion of those in the family around her and has a strong emphasis on faith.
