About This Item

New York: Random House, 1988. Hardcover. Very Good to Near Fine/Very Good. A stand-alone, mid-career novel from master craftsman Ludlum, author of the Jason Bourne bestsellers and numerous other bestselling thrillers. "The Icarus Agenda" features Congressman Evan Kendrick, the quiet, unassuming representative of a remote Colorado Congressional district who is able to end the takeover of a U.S. mideast embassy by terrorists who threaten to slaughter embassy staff if their demands are not met. Kendrick becomes a reluctant national hero thrust by competing political interests into consideration for presidential nomination while at the same time, vengeful terrorists seek his death by whatever means and costs. First edition, first printing (as stated, with Random House complete numberline from 9 to 2). About 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches, 678 pages, including "About the Author" page. Bound in dark blue, cloth-covered boards with author's name stamped in lower corner of front cover and gold lettering on spine. Dustjacket's front panel, designed by Paul Bacon, shows author's name in gold, title in yellow against a dark blue background. Back panel contains b & w, head & shoulders photo of author. Boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked. Not remaindered, not ex-library. Binding is beginning to loosen, as is not unusual on large books, but hinges remain intact with no evidence of cracking. Book shows no significant flaws or damage. Dustjacket shows only touch of edge wear and light bumping at spine ends. No tears, creasing or scratching. Not price-clipped. [Due to its size and weight, we cannot accept priority/express orders or orders from outside the U.S. on this book].
