Leipzig, Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1899 1st thus. Hardback, approx 6.5 x 5 inches. Fine leather binding, navy blue morocco leather to spine and corners and marbled paper to boards, with gilt line edging, raised banding to spine with gilt lettering and decorations. Top edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. In very good condition. Some slight minor rubbing to edges of boards, and leather on corners and ends of spine, else cover very clean and smart. Bookplate to front endpaper “Raymond Ball.” “Ex-Libris” stamp to following blank prelim with gryphon design. Some minor handling marks to pages with some neat pencil notes (lightly pencilled). Edges uncut. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 295pp.
