[viii] [xxxii] 660 pp. * Publisher's half leather (calf) * Gilt-stamped spine * Marbled boards * Tinted endpapers * Illustrated * Quarto (10.5 x 7.25) Beautiful antiquarian volume of the works by Lord BYRON, (1788-1824), the most notorious Romantic poet and satirist; profusely illustrated with full-page and in-text engravings from the original drawings by Birket Foster, Meadows, Browne, Janet, and Morin. In overall excellent condition, with tight binding and strong & undamaged hinges. Mild age wear and discoloration to leather which remains whole and supple. Internally complete and clean, with light toning and occasional small speck/crease to pages, mostly to preliminaries. A very attractive copy and a splendid production.
