The author divides the subject into Ancient Oriental Literature, Ancient Grecian and Ancient Roman Literature. With a few scattered black & white engraved illustrations and several colored maps. --- In publisher's Chautauqua Edition, with brown, pebble-finish cloth-covered boards and spine titling stamped in gilt. --- A somewhat shaken binding (but holding), and with clear plastic adhesive covering to spine and half of the covers, missing front free endpaper, prior owner's rubberstampings and signatures to endpapers, else a stable, sturdy copy.; 12mo - 7 to 7-1/2 in. tall; x, 11-432, [2] pages .
