Paris: Chez Chalres LeClerc , 1728. The first edition published as Les Femmes des douze Cesars, 1718, in one volume, this new augmented edition published 1728 in three. (14), 455, (6), 444, (8), 404 pp. Armorial bookplates (with coronet) of Lord Northwick with the motto 'Par ternis suppar', pasted over an earlier round bookplate. John Rushout, 2nd Baron Northwick, (1770-1859) was a noted British art collector and landowner. Three volumes bound in contemporary marbled calf, gilt backs, marbled end papers, all edges red. Very Good Plus, light rubbing at edges and spine ends, interiors clean and lovely. A handsome and SCARCE set. . New and Augmented Edition . Marbled Calf. Very Good Plus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
